Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston in Texas, at her dance studio run by her mother. When she was just 2 she appeared for the first time on television, as a child as a child on The Don Mahoney Show for Kids. She and her mother with ten years of singing and dancing lessons to her credit, traveled into Los Angeles a full year around 13 to test out if she would be able to earn a living in the showbiz. She landed her first job as a professional dancer in just two months: Danny Kaye's show The Danny Kaye Show. She says "I utilized my education for dancing and singing across a myriad of ways." It's a great way to train actors." O'Toole's role as a debutant as a character in My Three Sons was followed by roles in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. She has also been seen in Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. O'Toole's greatest love, despite her successes in film and on television, is theatre. After her six-year stint in Smallville O'Toole made the decision to concentrate on theatre, something she had been doing over the last decade. The first time she auditioned for a show in New York led her to being cast in The Sea Gull. She's appeared in many off-Broadway musicals, like Adam Rapp's Kindness and Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska.
