Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught school and her mom was a homemaker. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and often performed plays with puppets for the kids in her community. McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was then contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to join the show business. McCormick had her first significant task when she was cast as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical the play Wind It Up And It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance to play the eldest of three daughters towheaded on the new TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The five-year run of the show proved to be a huge success. McCormick said in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice she almost ended her relationship in the fifth season of the show in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Heres the story: Surviving Marcia and Finding My True Voice that in the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. The timing would not have been ideal for us, she told me.
